Drawn for a June 2009 contest at the Gnomon Workshop, topic is "Gothic beauty".
I wanted to go to the origins, instead of drawing black-lipped emo-females, I like the beauty of gothic architectures, specifically the temples. And not the later heavy and dark versions, but the early gothic buildings, which were full of light and lightness. I know this is weak, I wish I knew more about architecture to attempt these kinds of drawings. Perhaps this will be the next thing to try after I am more confident with anatomy (my current fave thing to learn). Feedback and helpful critiques are welcome. Comments
